Steps for using the new symbol of Indian Currency Rupee
Download the Indian Rupee Symbol Font from the below link.
- Now install the font. To install Copy the Font file to Control Panel-->Fonts Folder.
- Change the Font from the default Times New Roman, Arial, and Calibri to Rupees Foradian Font.
- Type the Rupees Symbol in Microsoft Word through the grave accent symbol “ ~ ” or “ ` ” which is the key just above "tab" button in your keyboard.
In MS Office 2000/2003
- Select the symbol (i.e. just like you do while copy pasting anything)
- Click on Tools-->option, then click on Auto correct.
- In the Replace Text Box type in Rs.
- Click on Add, then click on Ok
In MS Office 2007/2010
- If you want to add a formatted text entry, open the document that contains the text that is formatted the way that you want and select the Rupee Symbol.
- Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Word option.
- Click Proofing.
- Click Auto-correct option.
- In the Replace Text Box type in Rs. (You may also need to change the formatting from "Plain Text" to "Formatted Text")
- Click on Add then click on OK.
